Ohio Woven Blue and Cream Cotton and Wool Summer-Winter Coverlet, John Jacob Heilbronn, Basil, Fairfield County, Ohio, 1842. In two pieces with Distelfink and basket border, woven into two corner blocks "KATHRINE/ HOLMES/ FANCY/ COVERLET/ WOVE BY J.J./ HEILBRONN/ BASIL OHIO/ 1842."

Heilbronn was born June 15, 1815 in Alsace, France. After immigrating to the United States he became a professional weaver, and married Phebe Weaver from Fairfield, Ohio on January 9, 1840. He died July 8, 1887.
