Mutual Fire insurance Company of Germantown and its Vicinity Cast-Iron Fire Mark, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1843 to Present. The company was originally chartered in 1843 as the "Germantown, Roxborough and Bristol Mutual Fire Insurance Company." In 1859 the name was changed to the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Germantown and Its Vicinity. Neither company had a fire mark, but this fire mark was issued to commemorate the company's history for the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition in Philadelphia.
